Key Factors

Key Setup Decisions That Shape Your Registration

These decisions determine the business scope wording, market-access position, address and capital plan before we file.

01

Investor Type

A foreign individual or an overseas company. This sets the identity or corporate documents and verification steps needed.

02

Actual Business Activities

These determine the business scope wording, the market-access position and any permit requirement.

03

Registration Location

The city or zone should reflect where the company will actually operate.

04

Registered Address

An address suitable for the proposed activity is generally required to file.

05

Registered Capital & Operating Needs

Capital is planned around the structure, the operating needs and the applicable rules.

06

Permits & Regulated Activity

Regulated activities may need permits or additional filings. Identifying this early avoids rework.

Buyer Questions

WFOE Registration FAQ

What does WFOE mean in China?

WFOE stands for wholly foreign-owned enterprise, the term commonly used for a China company owned entirely by foreign investors. Current setup is assessed under company registration, foreign investment access and industry requirements.

Can a foreign individual or overseas company set one up?

In many cases, yes. A foreign individual or an overseas company can be the investor, subject to foreign investment access rules, the proposed activity, any sector-specific licensing and document verification. We review your case and confirm the route before filing.

Do I need a Chinese shareholder?

Not necessarily. A wholly foreign-owned structure does not require a Chinese shareholder where the proposed activities are open to foreign investment and the applicable requirements can be met. Some restricted sectors may have Chinese ownership, control or other market-access requirements, so we review the actual business activities before confirming the setup route.

Does the location matter?

Yes. It affects address options, licensing, banking and logistics, and should reflect where the company will actually operate. If Shanghai is your base, see the Shanghai route.

How long does it take, and what determines the cost?

Both depend on the investor structure, activity, location, address, permits and document legalization. After review we give you a preliminary timeline for the work we manage and a quotation; government processing times are not ours to promise.

Can YOUYI continue with bank, import-export and accounting?

Yes, as separately scoped services. We prepare the bank-account package and coordinate the application, handle customs-related registration for trading companies, and can take over bookkeeping and tax compliance.
